I have many diverse interests -- often too many I think, as I never have enough time for all of them.
Leisure Pursuits:
- Golf
I hoped to play more once I moved to San Diego and still never seemed to have enough time. Torrey Pines is an awesome course in my old hood, San Diego. - Clicker Training Cats
(Just Operant Conditioning; ala "Skinner")
Used by the San Diego Zoo as well as Sea World, it is fun and enriching for the animal. Here is an amazing dog-video, this dog was clicker trained in about a year. - Photography
I have about 10,000 slides that I have taken on my travels around the globe (50 countries over 36 months). I will soon start the daunting task of digitizing them -- Yikes! I thank the universe everyday that digital cameras exist. - Travel
For most of my adult life I have never taken a vacation, yes there were a few but mostly I traveled during my time off. The difference is that you have a clear agenda when you travel, you want to see as much as you can with the time you have. I traveled to 33% of the world according to my "where I've been" application. - Bonsai and its cousin Kusamono
I find the art of dwarfing trees and their associated grass plantings relaxing and yet challenging. In thinking about it - Animal Rescue/Adoption/Sheltering
Animals often need our help, Best Friends, a total non-kill foundation and Alley Cat Allies both do great work as does my "old hometown" organization, Feral Cat Coalition of San Diego
Technology I'm Currently Fiddling with:
- Home Automation: smart homes or domotics
- Mashups: Music, Web-apps
